Dipththeria. Tetanus. Pertussis. Hepatitis B. Haemophius influenzae type B. Poliovirus. Pneumococcal conjugate. Measles. Mumps. Rubella.
All of these vaccines are given at or after the first year of life, some multiple times.
“I had a perfectly healthy, normally developing child until they had their vaccines and now, they are autistic.” This is a common refrain among parents with children that have been diagnosed with autism. But the question remains, do vaccines cause autism. Even the CDC cannot fully rule out if there is a correlation.
But despite lack of scientific evidence to support or negate the claim, I believe a parent knows their child best. Parents are noticing an uptick in autism symptoms or regression of developmental skills after vaccines. Autism is a neurodevelopmental condition that is influenced by genetic and environmental influences. It is very likely that the vaccines did not cause the autism but likely exacerbated what was already present as any other environmental factor could.
Does that mean we should not give our children vaccines? I am not sure that is the answer as the risk of potential deadly infections is also not a solution. So, what is the solution? I most definitely do not have the answer. But it does help if families are aware of any potential genetic predisposition such as having a parent already diagnosed with autism. Also, working with health care providers that listen to your concerns. And being aware of the toxins in our world and allow for health detoxification methods for your child is also beneficial.
So, did vaccines make your child autistic. Probably not. They were very likely already born with that predisposition. What is most important to be aware of is that with or without autism your child is perfect. A wonderful, miraculous creation. And as a parent, with love, acceptance, and any necessary supports, you can work towards making their lives the best they can be.
